Who Should Trust Whom In Salem?
Rex and Cassie had an eye opening conversation about knowing who it is they can truly trust. Rex also decided to do research so he could learn about how to help Shawn out of his troubles. Cassie decided to help her brother clear Shawn. The also talked about how Marlena cut them out of their life. They then began to wonder if they could trust Tony DiMera. Rex and Cassie decide to search the DiMera mansion for clues. While searching the house, they stumble upon the Professor in one of the hidden rooms. He lies to the twins as to his reason for being in the Mansion. They ask him about Tonys secret room but he refuses to give them a straight answer. He tells them to figure it out for themselves. After trying to hack into Tonys computer, Rex gives up after failing to break through.
Rex and Cassie later show up at the court house before Shawns hearing where Cassie is confronted by Belle. Belle lays into Cassie about manipulating Shawn and lying to her. Cassie gives it back to her and lets her know she is willing to do anything for Shawn. Belle tells Cassie that the entire thing is her fault.
Rex pulls Cassie aside and tells her that they cannot trust anyone and that she will need to keep her mouth closed before Roman over hears her and throws her in jail.
During the hearing, Shawn pleads guilty which brings an outburst from Belle, who is later removed from the court room. After the Judge asks Shawn to give his plea, he changes his plea to not guilty. Rex and Cassie race outside the court room to tell Belle. Rex assures Belle that it was because of her plea to Shawn that he changed his plea.
Week Ending March 14, 2003
Rex And Mimi Share a Innocent Kiss
This week in Salem, Rex and Cassie decide to join Belle and Mimi and visit Chloe in the hospital. Cassie and Mimi first exchanged barbs with each other and it soon became Cassie and Belle. (Rex played referee of course.) Rex and Mimi shared a tender moment when he spilled cough syrup on his shirt. Of course, that left Mimi on a cloud of joy. They later hooked up at the carnival and Rex dropped Mimi in the water tank. After drying her off, they shared a kiss. Could this be the beginning of romance for Rex and Mimi? Are they destined to be together?
Rex also spent time with Tony discussing how Tony really feels about Marlena. He challenged his father at every turn and did not back down. We are now witnessing a new and darker side to Rex. He lays into Tony for trying to hide his feelings when Rex believes that anyone can how Tony feels about Marlena when they look at him when she walks into the room. It becomes absolutely clear when Marlena drops by during breakfast. Tony tells Rex that its not good to reveal too much of yourself or your plans to others because that opens you up. Rex tells Tony that he wants real power and that he will have it someday. Rex is slipping very comfortably into the Dimera shoes. Is Rex ready to carry the Dimera torch for the family? Will his thirst for power keep him from having a future with Mimi?
